LET’S TALK ABOUT JULY

Posted by

Just a few short months ago, July seemed to be ages away. But you know what I’ve discovered? If you stop counting and watching and waiting, time actually passes quite quickly. It’s like what happens when you walk away from the kettle and just let it boil. It’s amazing how things can actually happen even when we stop watching. Funny, hey?

July was named to honor Julius Caesar as this is the month of his birth- but before then, this month was called Quintillis. Can you imagine if we needed to refer to it by that name? I suspect that It would take us a month just to get it right!

July is on average the warmest month of the summer, and the early part of the month is when the “Dog days” of summer are considered to begin. This is no joke, I tell you. Hot, sultry, sticky, humid days will be here soon, whether we wait for them or not!

With Independence day approaching, it’s the perfect way to ring in the summer with barbecues, fireworks, parades, picnics and a whole lot more. Get your family together and spend the day enjoying good conversation and a great time that is sure to create lasting memories. But don’t watch the clock- or you’ll miss out on the fun!
