Our Old Map of Atlanta is a vintage aerial view of Georgia's capital. This city, known for its forests almost as much as it is known for its peaches, was already a bustling city by the turn of the 20th century when this Old Map of Atlanta was created.
The city of Atlanta was born in 1837 at the crossing of two railroad lines (which you can see on the Old Map of Atlanta, even though it was produced a few decades later). It gained a reputation as being a progressive city over the years in terms of civil rights, commerce and transportation.
While the Old Map of Atlanta does not include this feature, the city is home to the busiest airports in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. When looking at the Old Map of Atlanta itself, it is illustrated in such a way as to include the "view from airplane" and one might imagine what a bird flying overhead must have been thinking as it soared over this great city.
Framed in a beautiful real wood frame that is approximately 1” wide and ½” thick, old state maps come in various sizes and are carefully packed for delivery.
As this item is a true facsimile of an actual old map there may be slight imperfections which only add to its authenticity.
