The Mexican-American War took place in 1846, the year before our Old Map of Texas was released, complete with part of New Mexico included within its borders. This historic time is captured on this 16 x 20 inch Old Map of Texas framed in brown wood.
Texas was originally a part of Mexico. However, from 1836-1845, Texas was its own independent territory. It's "national" and later, state flag has only one star and this is why Texas is called the "Lone Star State". From 1845 onwards, Texas joined the United States and our Old Map of Texas shows exactly what it looked like just after this occurred.
Our Old Map of Texas of the Lone Star state includes the seal of the state of Texas, complete with its single lone star. This Old Map of Texas is impeccable as it includes the names of all of the cities and other landmarks in both Texas and New Mexico.
Framed in a beautiful real wood frame that is approximately 1” wide and ½” thick, old state maps come in various sizes and are carefully packed for delivery.
As this item is a true facsimile of an actual old map there may be slight imperfections which only add to its authenticity.
